All employees of Stoney Nakoda Resort will be required to produce a police clearance check and must be of legal age to apply. Front of house staff will be trained in ASIP and AADAC, as well our housekeeping and kitchen staff will be WHMIS, MSDS, and food safety trained. Any individual with experience and / or education on these courses would be an asset.

Position Summary:

  • Under the guidance of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef, prepare and deliver all food items to the pre-defined expectations and presentation standards.

Essential Functions:

  • Prepares all food items in accordance with established recipe and quality standards in a timely manner
  • Prepares hot foods and sauces as directed
  • Responsible for daily soup preparation as directed
  • Maintains the cleanliness of all kitchen work stations, tools, equipment and supplies and ensures the proper food handling techniques are being followed
  • Communicates with the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Chef de Partie: Quantity of product – abundance or shortage; Quality of product: Technical deficiencies
  • Assists in the opening and closing duties of the kitchen which may include turning equipment on/off, locking/unlocking of secured areas, set up/store prep items, etc
  • Ensure that all stores and fridges including fresh produce, meat and dry goods are stored in the respective storage areas in an organized manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Two (2) years previous experience in a Resort or Hotel style environment (Perferred)
  • Post secondary education in a Culinary program or in a related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of safe and sanitary holding temperatures and procedures
  • Ability to use safe storage techniques following storage and rotation policies and procedures
  • Ability to follow recipes and cooking guidelines
  • Ability to work in a clean, organized manner with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and carrying 35lbs on a regular and continuous basis

  • Ability to stand for 5 hours continuously
